My favorite place to eat on Planet Earth. The dixie dogs and hot dogs are terrific, but the best are the steak fingers with cream gravy. No steak fingers like them anywhere else.

It's also nice that you can get drinks with cherry, vanilla, etc. added (e.g. cherry vanilla Dr Pepper).

See Cameron's review for "Dixie Maid Ordering for Newbies 101".

Old fashion small drive in.  Very good choice of food.  Excellent home made hamburgers.  Order at window.  Wait in your car for food to be prepared.

My wife and I stopped in here on our way home to Oregon. I have to say that the food was really great and priced well also. The cheese burger I ordered was nice and juicy, the fries were really good also and the staff were all friendly.

I stopped by this place and got an incredible chicken sandwich. It is a little more expensive than most, but it is really good. As I waited for my meal, it was clear that I was the only person that wasn't a regular. Everyone was mentioned by name and asked how they were doing. If you're ever going through Paducah, you have to stop.

Just in case anyone is ever lost driving through Texas and you end up in my hometown and you're looking for something to eat, you should probably check out The Dixie Maid.  It's one of the two eateries in town, unless you count getting a three-day old burrito at the convenience store.

I was practically raised eating this food.  It's a wonder I've stayed so thin.  They serve greasy burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, steak finger baskets, BBQ burgers, etc. all at a small town price.  I'd recommend the corn dog because they make their own batter or the steak finger basket with creamy white gravy.

They're also kind like Sonic with their drinks. You can get a suicide (all the drinks mixed together), cherry limeades, vanilla Dr. Peppers, chocolate Dr. Peppers, root beer floats, cherry Sprites and probably just about any other combination you can think of.

Being an outsider, you might not understand how the Dixie Maid works, so I'll explain here so you won't think you're getting bad service.  They are not going to come to your car.  You can either park your car and walk up to the little window in the front and place your order and go back to your car and wait until they wave you back up to the window to pick it up, or you can go inside and place your order and wait inside.

After eating here you might want to take a ride around the drag ( It'll only take you about two minutes) and check out the court house.  It's pretty photogenic.
